Digi Bells Blog Hop for February

It's time for a new Digi Bells blog hop. As always, our blog hop is a chance to welcome a new release digi from the amazing Elizabeth Bell...and this time there is another special release of digi's: Anna and Puppy Surprise. Both these images were originally one image, and now they have been separated to add to the fun.

For this challenge, I decided to make a Peek-A-Boo card. Here is my card:

I printed my Anna and Puppy Surprise with my Canon inkjet printer onto Copic Xpress Cardstock and coloured the images with Copic Markers. The Copics used are as follows: skin: E11, E00, E000, E0000, R20 hair: E49, E47, E44, E42, clothes: R0000, R85, R83, R81, puppy: W00, E40, E42, G0000, G12, G14 present: Y02, Y11, Y15, Y17, R81, R0000.
But where is the Puppy Surprise? Just open the card and watch as the magic happens:

Remember to leave a comment on each stop along the way, and you will be in with a chance to win these lovely cute digis all for yourself to create something special with. The blog hop starts on Friday, February 27, 2014, at 9:00am (Arizona time) and ends on Friday, March 6th, 2014, at 9:00am (Arizona time).

This is my last card for the GDT as my stint as guest ends on Saturday. ABC Challenge – D is for Die Cut

Welcome to the middle of February and our next ABC Challenge, and this time our challenge is D is for Die Cut and we want you to use your die cuts on your cards. This challenge is sponsored by Di's Digi Designs and Bunny Zoe.

For this challenge, I decided to use this cute dig from Di's Digi DesignsIzzy's Little Donkey. I spent several of my teenage years caring for the donkey's at a local Pioneer Park museum and giving kids donkey rides each weekend. Donkeys will always hold a special place in my heart, and this little image was hard to go past.

I printed Izzy's Little Donkey onto Copic Xpress-it card stock and coloured it in with my copics. The colours I used are: W9, W7, W5, W3, W1, W00, C00, C0, C7, C9, C5, E57, E55, E53, E51, E50, E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, Y28, Y26, Y23, Y21 and Y0000. Here is a closer look:

Instead of using bought flowers, I decided to use a poinsettia made using a die cut. I really like the way this die cut came together - here is a closer look :

I hope you enjoyed my card. I'd love to see what creations you can make and enter in our  ABC Challenge,

ABC Challenge – C is for Cupid

Well that's the first month of 2015 done and dusted and do you know what that means? Time for another fabulous ABC Challenge, and this time our challenge is C is for Cupid and we want to see all your lovely creations for Love/Romance/Valentines/Wedding/Engagement. We have two sponsors this challenge: Marianne Design & Stamp and Create.

For this challenge, I decided to do something a little different. I have some beautiful Marianne Design dies and wanted to use some of them in my creation. I have always loved horse and carriages, and they shout "Romance" at me, and I think they are perfect for this challenge. Rather than stick them on a card, I made a 3D carriage drawn by 2 matching horses. I think they are a fabulous background for this Don and Daisy image, too. Anyway, here is my creation for this challenge:

I stamped Don & Daisy Just Married onto Kryogen card stock and coloured them in with my copics. The colours I used are: C00, C0, C1, C2, C3, C5, C7, BG0000, BG10, R24, R21, R20, E57, E55, E53, E51, E50, E0000, E000, E00, E11. Here is a closer look:

To make the carriage, I cut 8 carriages and glued 4 of them together for strength. This gave me the two sides of my carriage, I then cut a strip of card, made an ovalish shaped tube and glued one of the carriages to each end, to make it into a 3D carriage. To do the horses, I also glued 4 of each horse together. To get them to stand I used a toothpick behind the ribbon and a small punched heart under their hooves for a little more balance. I then decorated the horses and carriage with ribbon, brads, bling and flowers. I drew the bridles on the horses as it was a bit fiddly to make them with ribbon. Here is a closer look:

To make the tree in the background, I cut 4 trees using the die, folded them in half and glued them together so they stood up.
I hope you enjoyed my project. I'd love to see what creations you can make and enter in our  ABC Challenge,
