Polkadoodles Challenge–Anything but a Square Card

Hi everyone, time for me to share some inspiration for the current Polkadoodles Challenge. All our challenges are

Anything Goes

while for an added challenge the DT's are creating anything but a Square card.
For my DT inspiration this week I have made a delightful Easter basket featuring Helga Sitting Pretty.

I made the basket using a 12x12 sheet of cardstock and then punched strips from another 12x12 sheet to make the handle and side decorations.

Now all that's left to do is to hide the chocolates ready for the hunt on Sunday morning!! Happy Easter everyone, hope you all get a chance to relax and enjoy the break.

Polkadoodles Challenge - Something New

Hi everyone and welcome to another brand new Polkadoodles Challenge. All our challenges are

Anything Goes

while for an added challenge the DT's are featuring a something new in our creations.

I have used a really cute image from the Winston Bear collection - Winston Bear Celebrate and made a Happy New Year card - I think this image is just perfect for celebrating the New Year with friends.

Here it is:

I printed the image using my Canon inkjet printer and then coloured it in with my copics. The colours I used are: E57, E55, E53, E51, E50, E47, E35, E33, E31, E30, E0000, BG0000, W00, Y26, Y23, Y21, Y00, YG67, YG63, YG61, G20, R21colourless blender ink.
I then used an oval die cut to cut out the image and layered it onto a lace heart doily and some olive card. I cut out the card to match the shape of the doily. I tied a double bow and tucked it under a couple of wild rose flowers and attached it to the top corner.

Happy New Year !!!

Polkadoodles challenge - Summertime

Hi everyone and welcome to another brand new Polkadoodles Challenge. Our theme for this challenge is

Summertime

For my DT inspiration this week, I decided to use the gorgeous stamps from the Summertime and Daisydays collections.

I stamped one of the Summertime flowers in gold over my red card as a background and then stamped the same image in red over some white card as a background. I then added a layer of summery orange vellum. I then stamped 2 butterflies and a flower and coloured them with copics, before fussy cutting them and adding them with a bright red bow.

The card is a sliding pop up card that I learnt to make in a class many years ago when I first started stamping.

Here is my card:

The copics I used are: Y12, Y14, Y15, Y35, Y38, R22, R24, R27, R89.

The best thing about these cards is they easily lay flat for folding:

And here is another side on view showing the pop-up:

Happy stamping until next time...

Polkadoodles birthday fun continues

Happy 7th birthday Polka Doodles

As this anniversary is normally called the "7 year itch", the Polka Doodles team have embraced the prickly feeling by scratching that itch and mixing/scratching up some new images ... get the pun? Corny we know but the team have had great fun. So to embrace the “itchy scratch” the Polka Doodles team have thrown caution to the wind and “scratched up” a different kind of birthday celebration.

The birthday celebrations will be running for 2 weeks and each day someone from the Polka Doodles team will be sharing their “mixed/scratched up” image. It’s been all hush hush and secret squirrel too as no one knows who has been busy creating what and when they will be revealing their image... so the Polka Doodles team get to join in the fun too. To add an extra layer of itchy fun, everyone has also been colouring up the new “scratched/mixed up” images, (still not knowing who designed them) and they will be sharing via their blogs and on FaceBook.
We really have scratched things up ... new merged images, no one knows who created what and no one knows when they’ll be sharing them ...!

Please do take the opportunity to visit the Polka Doodles team and see their new digi images because you will find a discount code (or two) along your way that you can use in the Polka Doodles shop.

So today I am sharing a creation using an image scratched up by one of my teamies, I'm not sure who it is, but I love the image they scratched together. Keep an eye out on facebook for their make with the same image and check out their blog for a special code you can use in the shop.
