Digi Bells Blog Hop for June

It is time for another Digi Bells blog hop and this month I'm the first stop on the hop, so you should have arrived here from the Digi Bells blog.  If not, you may want to start there so you see all the details. As always, our blog hop is a chance to welcome a new release digi from the amazing Elizabeth Bell...This image is another oldie, reborn as a digi, specially brought out from Elisabeth's Archive. It is called "Belle on Carousel" and I think this is one of my very favourite digis. Here she is:

I fell in love with this image as it reminded me of my childhood when I dreamed that I owned a riding school and could spend my days riding horses. I remember riding may carousels, always pretending that the horses were real and we were galloping over the fields, not just going around in circles. I'm sure that is what Belle is doing, with her eyes closed, dreaming about riding in her imaginary world:

I printed Belle on Carousel with my Canon inkjet printer onto Copic Xpress Cardstock and coloured the image with Copic Markers. The Copics used are as follows: skin: E11, E00, E000, E0000, R20 hair: E29, E27, E35 clothes: YG03, YG25, G20, Y17, E27, W09, W07, W05 Carousel horse: Y26, Y23, Y21, R27, R24, R22, B04, B02, B01, W00, W01, Y15, Y17, Y11, R21, R20, W07, W05, Y28
Here is a closer look at the delightful image.

I hope you like my card, I had all the intentions of making a 3D Carousel, but time just got the better of me this month. It certainly is something I have in mind to make a bit later on.

If you have just started the blog hop, keep following the trail to the very talented Carla.

Remember to leave a comment on each stop along the way, and you will be in with a chance to win this gorgeous digi all for yourself to create something special with.

Digi Bells: Daisy Hugging Dolly

Hi again, really running short of time today as I have spent the day at a fundraising barbeque for our upcoming musical theatre production. So I decided to do a really quick card using  Elisabeth Bell's very cute image, Daisy Hugging Dolly from Elphine House Australia.

My image is stamped Memento Tuxedo Black onto Copic Xpress Card and coloured in with Copic Markers. The colours I used were: skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, Daisy's hair: E47, E44, E43, E42, jeans and Dolly's shoes: B97, B95, B93, B91, top:  R0000, R24, R22, R21, R20, Dolly's hair: Y28, Y26, Y23, Dolly's dress: R22, R21, R20, Flowers: FY1, FYR1, leaves: YG23, YG25

I created an overlay using my new Die'sire Enchanted die, which cuts and embosses. To highlight the embossing, I used a sponge dauber and some Blushing Bride ink on the raised parts.

Such a simple, quick card to make.

Hope you have a great week...

ABC Challenge: N is for Nautical

Ahoy there fellow stamping fanatics, today is the day for another fun challenge at ABC Challenges. Today our theme is N is for Nautical and we would like to see cards with a nautical  or ocean based theme. The sponsor of this challenge is Wild Orchid Crafts, and there is a $10 voucher up for grabs. They have so many gorgeous flowers available.

The idea I had for today's challenge was a little mermaid watching through the window to the sailors on the sea. I had some lovely paper with a map on it, and it fitted my idea perfectly. Here is my card:

For my card, I stamped Magnolia's Pearl Tilda using Momento ink on Copic Xpress white card stock. She is coloured with my copics. The colours I used are  skin: E0000, E11, E000, E00, R20 hair: E55, E53, E51, shells: R02, R01, tail: B95, B93, B91, seahorse YR27, YR24, YR23, YR21, YR20, Y23, Y21, Y17. I then fussy cut her out and added some touches of glitter and some pearls to add some detail.

I also stamped the sailboat on Copic Xpress card in Momento ink and masked it, before colouring the sea and the sky using my sponge daubers and SU Bermuda Bay, Not Quite Navy and Soft Sky inkpads. I then cut the window in the map so the boat showed through, using Labels 20 from Spellbinders.
The edges of the card I punched out using Martha Stewart Around The Page Border Punch. I also added some Wild Orchid Craft flowers and an SU sentiment.

Here is a close look at my little Tilda mermaid with her golden seahorse friend:

ABC Challenge: M is for Monochrome

Time for another fun challenge at ABC Challenges today. This time we are up to M and the challenge is to use a monochromatic colour scheme for your creation. Our sponsor for today's challenge are Kenny K and Marker Pop and I decided to use Kenny K's Mermaid digital stamp:

For my card  I printed my Mermaid on Copic Xpress card stock and then coloured her with my copics. Originally I was going to use teals or blues, but I found this fabulous black paper at my local craft shop and thought of my shell shaped card idea, so my Mermaid became shades of grey. For my shell shape, I used my Craft Robo cutter and Silhouette Designer Software to create the shape and cut out the layers using the textured paper and dark grey card.

The Copic colours I used are:  skin and shells in her hair: W9, W7, W5, W3, W1, W00 hair, tail and shell bra: C9, C7, C5, C3, C2, C1, C00 I then used SU Circle framelits to cut her out, making sure I fussy cut part of her tail. I then layered her onto a fancier circular frame cut using a Marianne Designs Die. I also added some black pearls.

Here is a closer look at my Mermaid:

I added some texture effect using colourless blending fluid on her tail, to give the appearance of scales.
