ABC Challenge - X is for Xtra Special

Time flies when you are having fun and it's the 15th of November before you know it. Today is time for another new challenge at ABC Challenges and were heading towards the end of the alphabet. Today's challenge is X is for Xtra Special we want you to join us by sharing creations made for a special occasion, like a birthday, anniversary or maybe just a card for someone special.

This challenge is sponsored by Kenny K and the design team has been busily creating some wonderful inspiration for you. Here is my card. It's not my usual colours, because I tend to add more bright colours, but my special friend is a fan of the pastel lemon and pink, and the background paper seemed to suit the Kenny K image: Farmer's Daughter

For my card, I printed the Farmer's Daughter digi using my Canon inkjet printer onto Copic Xpress card stock. She is coloured with my copics. The colours I used are: skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, eyes: B00, C9, hair: E59, E57, E55, E53, E51, hat: Y28, Y26, Y23, Y21, Y00, clothes: R85, R83, R81, V0000, Y11, Y00, tree: E40, E42, E44, leaves: G82, G20

I added a sentiment, a tree diecut that I cut out of Copix Xpress card and coloured with my copics, some ribbon, flowers and some pretty butterfly diecuts.

Here is a close look at my image:

Just for fun - Green and Black Secret Box

A while ago I found a lovely tutorial on Split Coast Stampers for a secret box. I loved the idea, but decided to re-size the box to make it taller so I could decorate it with some Tildas. This is how it turned out:

.

I stamped my Tildas using Memento Tuxedo Black ink on kryogen white card stock. I decided to colour the Tildas using the same colours, inspired by the background paper. Green is one of my favourite colours, but I have sometimes struggled when colouring with copics.

I am really happy with my images, and love the way the greens worked for me. The colours I used are skin: E0000, E11, E000, E00, R20 clothes:YG67, YG17, YG03, YG01, YG0000, YG23, G40, hair: E59, E57, E55, E53, E50, flowers and dots on dresses and bows: R24, yellow hat, shoes flower and flags: Y0000, YR20, Y23, Y26, Y29.

Here is the box opened up to reveal it's secrets:

Here is a close look at each of the lovely Tildas which are all from the Pink Lemonade collection:
Tilda with summer pants

Tilda with a big, big rose

Here is the box filled with a dozen Lindt Strawberries and Cream Chocolate. Such a lovely surprise gift for a special friend.
