Summer Daze

It's Easter and that means a four day weekend and  I have some more time to play. I found this delightful image over at Elizabeth Bells Digital Designs and decide it would be fun to colour.

This one is a sliding pop up card. I used to make these all the time, but haven't made one for about 5 years. These are a great card to make, quite easy and they fold flat for posting.

The image is printed on Copic Xpress card and coloured in with Copic Markers. The colours I used were: skin: E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20, boys clothes: B91, B93, B95, B97, B0000 girls clothes: R37, R34, R32, R0000 boys hair: E57, E51, E53, E55, girls hair: Y26, E37, E33, E50, flowers: Y11, Y13, Y17, picnic basket: Y26, Y23, R39 reeds: G20, G82, G85, E59, E55, fish: BG0000, BG10, BG11, BG13 water: B0000, BG0000, BG11 sand: E43, E42, E40, puppy: E18, E15, 0

J is for Just As You Like (Anything Goes)

Here is my card for the ABC Challenges challenge that starts today. This challenge letter this time is J and the theme is Just As You Like It which means we can make a card where anything goes. Our sponsors for this challenge are Marianne Designs and The Ribbon Girl, so I decided to use a delightful Marianne designs stamp and 2 beautiful Marianne design die cuts. Here is my card:

The image I chose was In the Sun from Marianne Designs Don & Daisy stamps. What a pleasant way to spend an afternoon in the sun reading a book. Here is a closer look:

I enjoyed colouring Daisy, especially the grass where I tried to get some texture with my copics. The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Copic Xpress Card and  coloured with Copic Sketch (and Ciao) Markers. I am not usually a lacy person, and found this quite a challenge to add the lace, but here is my card:

The image was provided by our lovely sponsor, Sherri Baldy, and the image I chose was Messy Bestie. I thought she was very sweet. Sherri has some lovely images, so why don't you check out her site and see if you can find an image or two to play with. Here is a closer look:

G is for Girls

Wow, the 1st of March already. This year is just flying by and it is time for another challenge at The ABC Challenge. This time it is G for Girls and our wonderful sponsors are:

 and

I am a singer and love to perform. A couple of years ago I was in a showcase and wore a beautiful long red evening gown. I couldn't resist this lovely digi: I Won!!!

I wish I'd been able to have lovely long blonde hair for my performance, unfortunately I had to wear a bun with all my hair slicked back since I was also in some dance numbers.

There is nothing like getting all glammed up. Here is a closer look at my lady in red:

My image is printed on  Copic Xpress Card and coloured with Copic Sketch (and Ciao) Markers. The Copics used are as follows: skin: E11, E00, E000, R20, hair: E57, E55, E53, E51, gloves and purse: C3, C2, C0, C00.

I found some lovely black paper with gold swirls for the background and decided to keep the card simple as I didn't think it needed any embellishments. Here is one more look:

F is for Flowers

Well it's the 15th February and time for the next challenge at ABC Challenges. Today's challenge is very apt for this time of year as it is all about flowers. Hopefully you all got some lovely flowers for Valentine's day yesterday.

Today's card is one inspired by my 14 year old daughter. She has a beautiful little cat, Misty,  that is her constant shadow. I thought this stamp was so like her and Misty when I saw it. The colours were also inspired by her favourites. The image is is Digital Stamp - Thinking of You - Wags 'n Whiskers
from our sponsor, Stamp and Create.

Here is my card:

Looking from slightly more above, you can see the sentiment and the embossing I used on the inside of the card:

Here is the card folded flat for posting:

E is for Embellish

Today is the start of another challenge at ABC Challenges. This challenge is all about those beautiful add ons we use to glam up our cards. That's right it's  E is for Embellish and we have to use 3 or more embellishments on our cards. This challenge is sponsored by : Kenny K and Bunny Zoe.

In trying to decide which image to use, I found this very apt Craft Star over on Kenny K's site. She looks ready to go with her hot glue gun.

Here is my card for the DT, and this time I have chosen autumn tones:

For this challenge I decided to make a tri-shutter card. You can find some instructions over at split coast stampers. I used to make these cards a bit years ago and they are always fun when you want lots of small sayings or embellishments.

Here is a slightly side on view showing the embellishments:

The image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black onto Copic Xpress Card and coloured with Copic Sketch (and Ciao) Markers. The Copics used are as follows: skin: E11, E00, E000, R20, hair: E57, E55, E53, E51, pants: E35, E33, E31, E51, shoes: E37, E35, E31 top: Y26, Y23, Y21 apron: G40, G82, G85, G94  eyes: G40, G99, G85, C9, C7, C5, Belt, E39, W5, C3 tools: YR02, YR04, YR07, W1, W3, W5, C3, C00, Y21, YG93.
I then carefully cut her out before attaching her to the front with dimensionals. I added some pearls to her toolkit and a bling earring.

Here is a closeup of the craft star:

I hope you like my card for "E is for embellishments".
